Abstract:Based on the data collected in 20 stations of two survey cruises in winter (January) and summer (September) of 2018 in Jiaozhou Bay, a total of 287 macrobenthos species was identified. The average abundance and biomass of macrobenthos were 2 026 ind./m2 and 378.0 g/m2 respectively, both of them showed a trend of increasing from the middle to the northern and southern parts of Jiaozhou Bay. The composition of dominant species varied seasonally, the most dominant species was polychaetes, and Ruditapes philippinarum had a highest IRI value. The Shannon-Wiener index (H′) indicated that the environment of northern part of Jiaozhou Bay was disturbed (H′<2). The cluster analysis showed that the macrobenthos in the surveyed area were divided into 2 (winter) and 3 (summer) communities at the similarity level of 35% and 26% respectively. The result of Pearson analysis showed that the distribution of macrobenthos abundance had a significant correlation with the temperature of bottom water.
